This Privacy Policy explains how Prenups.com, LLLP (“Prenups.com,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit prenups.com, download our materials, book a consultation, or contact us. Information you share after you become a client is also governed by your engagement agreement and by the rules of professional conduct that bind our attorneys.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number, and state of residence.
- Consultation booking details: the date and time you choose, your partner’s name if you provide it, wedding date, and answers to our intake questions.
- Payment details for the consultation fee and legal fees. Payments are processed by Clio Payments; we do not store full card or bank account numbers.
- Anything else you choose to send us by form, email, phone, or text.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location, pages visited, links clicked, and how you arrived at our site, including campaign source details we pass to our scheduling tool when you book.
Consultation recordings
With your consent, which we request by email before the call, we may record and transcribe consultations so our attorneys can review your goals and follow up accurately. You may ask us not to record, and we will honor that request.
2. How we use your information
- To schedule and hold consultations, and to send confirmations and reminders.
- To evaluate whether we can represent you, including checking for conflicts of interest.
- To send the materials you request, such as our ebook, and related emails you can unsubscribe from at any time.
- To understand how visitors use our site and improve it.
- To process payments, keep business records, and meet our legal and professional obligations.
3. Confidentiality and the attorney-client relationship
Using this website, downloading our materials, or submitting a form does not create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship begins only when you and our firm sign an engagement agreement.
We treat information you share in a consultation as confidential, as our professional rules require for prospective clients. Please do not send detailed financial or personal information through website forms or email before your consultation.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share information only with:
- Service providers that operate our business on our behalf and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. These include our website host, Calendly (scheduling and text reminders), Mailchimp (email), Clio (client management and payments), Fathom (call recording and transcription), Zapier (workflow automation), and Google (analytics).
- Our attorneys and staff who need the information to evaluate or handle your matter.
- Your partner or your partner’s attorney, only as needed to prepare and negotiate your agreement once you engage us.
- Legal and regulatory authorities when required by law, court order, or professional rules.
- A successor firm if our practice is merged or transferred, subject to the professional rules governing client files.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies through Google Tag Manager to run the following tool. We do not use session recording, heatmap, advertising, or remarketing tools.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work without them.
Do Not Track. Our site does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals. We do not use advertising or remarketing trackers.
6. Email and text messages
- Email. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Transactional messages about a consultation or your matter continue while they are needed.
- Text messages. If you provide a mobile number when booking, Calendly may text you appointment confirmations and reminders. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. We do not share mobile numbers or text-messaging consent with third parties for their marketing.
7. How long we keep information
- Website inquiries and consultation records from people who do not become clients: up to 3 years, then deleted, unless we need them for a conflict check or a legal obligation.
- Email subscriber data: until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to honor the opt-out.
- Analytics and session data: according to each tool’s retention settings, no longer than 14 months.
- Client files: retained as described in your engagement agreement and as required by professional rules.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your information, unless we must keep it for legal or professional reasons (for example, a conflict check or a client file).
- Stop sending you marketing emails or texts.
Email admin@prenups.com with your request. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
California residents. This section describes our practices under the California Online Privacy Protection Act, including how we respond to Do Not Track signals (Section 5) and how you can review and correct your information (this section). Residents of other states with privacy laws may use the same process.
10. Children
Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites, including podcast, book retail, and booking pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be noted on this page.
